GRAMMY and EMMY winning pianist Gloria Cheng will premiere my solo piano piece TWO MOVEMENTS during an 8 pm concert of the 2023 Angel City Jazz Festival at Zipper Hall, Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles. The piece was commissioned by Gloria Cheng with the help of grants by the NEA and UCLA. Also on the concert program named Root Progressions will be commissioned solo pieces by Anthony Davis, Jon Jang, Linda May Han Oh, James Newton and Arturo O’Farrill, as well as jazz sets by ensembles led by Jon Jang and Linda May Han Oh.
