In honor of the upcoming 30th anniversary of Maestro Heiichiro Ohyama’s tenure as the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra’s music director I received a commission to write a piece for the instrumentation of 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, contrabassoon, 3 horns, violoncello and double bass. The new work, titled SANTA BARBARA SUITE, will be premiered on March 18, 2014 along with compositions by Dvorak and Richard Strauss.
